ATB is a market oriented enterprise founded jointly by the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and leading industrial enterprises. The basis of ATB is an enterprise concept to which the management consultants McKinsey contributed in a most decisive manner.

ATB's establishment aimed at setting up a highly innovative and efficient technology centre which would make system technical services and products available to a wide spectrum of enterprises and institutions, thereby increasing their ability to remain competitive.
